About TIme

Have you ever thought about what it was like in a castle? Just think about what all you could do there and how amusing it would be! Well, I think it is about time the class of 2021 goes on a field trip! I advise we do something big and something we will never forget. This is why we should go to Buckingham Palace in London. It would not only be enjoyable, it would also be educational.

Going to the castle in Buckingham Palace would be a breathtaking. Perhaps, we could go through the Queen’s Gallery. While we go through the Queen’s Gallery we will need to be cautious, so that we don’t knock anything over. Next, we should take a tour around the castle! There is like a million rooms! Actually according to my research, the castle has 775 rooms total. Of course, we would need to meet the king and queen!

Visiting the castle would also be scholarly. Oh, sure we could learn the history on the former kings and queens of England. Just consider, the three interactive art and history exhibits in the castle. When we are taking the tour, we can learn so much on England’s history. This year when we started history on not only our country, it was very interesting. For an example we learned a little about Argentina, Chile, England, ETC. I feel like we could learn so much more about England.

I know if we go on this field trip we would better understand England in the future. This is why I believe the class of 2021 should go on this enjoyable and educational trip.

It’s Really Snow

I woke up in the morning
And ran to the window
The night before my dad had said
There was a small chance of snow

I slowly opened the curtain
Ready for disappointment
As I gazed outside in awe
I felt like I was looking through a shaken snow globe

Yesterday, what had been a yard full of dead dry leaves
Was today, a Winter Wonderland

The snowflakes fell lazily from the sky
The lawn sparkled like diamonds
The icicles hung from everything and glittered like glass

I woke up my sister
We hurried to get dressed
Then we raced to be the first outside

A quiet peacefulness surrounded us
The birds songs were silent
The roads were now empty with no cars

I packed the snow in my hands
It felt like soft powder
I licked it
It melted in my mouth like cotton candy

We began to make a snowman
Sweet strawberries for the eyes
A small crunchy carrot for the nose
Plump blueberries for the mouth
And green grapes for the buttons

And then we got cold
We hurried indoors for the awaiting hot chocolate
It warmed our insides
As we sipped the sweet snack
The marshmallows were melting

And soon, the snow would too.

That One Person

Have you ever known or seen that one person who doesn’t care what others think about themselves? They are who they are. Well, I have. That one person would be a girl named Nour. Nour Hussein is who I admire because she loves who she is and is an amazing leader to girls and boys like me.

Nour loves who she is and doesn’t care what others think. As a girl born with a disease called Alopecia, (a disease causes you to lose your hair) she still walks around school with her head held up high. Every morning when I wake up and get ready for school I’m afraid of what others are going to think about my hair and clothes. Still she is self-confident and doesn’t care what others think. I don’t know how she can handle being different than everybody else and still push through the pain of that inside. Most importantly she is herself. Nour walks around school without a wig and doesn’t act like something she isn’t.

One of my favorite things about Nour is she is an incredible leader. In any case Nour is very kind. Since my brother does Journalism with her she knows me and has bought me some treats. Meanwhile Nour is also smart. She is on the journalism team and makes good grades. Finally, I admire her because she shows and helps me remember nobody is perfect everybody has flaws.

I hope that someday all girls and boys can be like the beautiful, intelligent, leader that Nour is. Watching Nour who loves who she is and is a leader makes me try harder to be like her.

Have Fun on Top of the Cake

“Mama Jayden’s on top of the cake!!” is what I shouted. My mom came rushing in… Wait a second let me back up a little.

It all started when we were about to start the celebration of the adoption of a new baby brother, named Jayden. So we got out the chocolate cake and left it on the table. Jayden was real cheerful and joyful. My mom and dad left the room to go and get the camera, so we could start the celebration.

Before I knew it I looked up and saw Jayden sitting on the cake smiling and laughing. He was taking it from under him and eating it with a big grin on his face. “Mama Jayden’s on the cake!!” is what I shouted. My mom came rushing in with a startled look on her face. Even though my mom was a little upset we all laughed.

So instead of the chocolate cake we had the most mouthwatering ice cream ever! The ice cream was soft, sweet, and had the most amazing after taste!

Today we learned a hard lesson don’t leave a baby with a cake unsupervised. But we still love him to death! Even when something goes wrong still smile about it.
