Henry Hudson was exploring for the Dutch to find the Northwest Passage in 1609. Henery’s ship was called the Half Moon . When he and his crew of 20 got farther up north it began to get colder.  Henry Hudson turned his ship around and started heading for southwest America.  He sailed the Half Moon on the coast where New York is today. The Dutch set post here he had sailed. Soon they would name the river he had sailed on the Hudson River.  For a second attempt in 1610 he sailed on a ship called the Discovery for England.   Henry thought he had found the Northwest Passage when he discovered a 450 mile long passageway.  Hudson sailed into later to be called Hudson Bay.  Henry started to go farther looking for a passage.  The winter came and the bay froze. Over freezing Henry Hudson’s boat, (The Discovery) into the bay. When the summer stroke in 1611 he went searching for the Northwest passage again. Henry’s crew was stuck up and put Henry, his son, and seven other loyal men into a boat with no oars. Nobody’s heard of him since. I think Henry Hudson and the others found a way to sail a little bit with maybe a log, so instead of going all that way home, they might of stayed and lived with the natives for the rest of their days.  What do you think?
